Were looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering infrastructure team within Disneys Ad Technology organization. Our teams mission is to provide automation, custom tooling, and infrastructure support that will enable teams across the organization to deliver products quickly and safely. As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and automation, with hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable platforms. You'll develop tools and automation that enable developers to deploy and debug services easily and efficiently. You'll work closely with multiple teams of engineers to design new solutions that streamline our operations and help our engineers scale. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role
Build and maintain internal tools for use within the team and for the larger organization utilizing TypeScript, Python, and Go. Improve our core Terraform modules to ensure they meet user needs when deploying cloud-based services. Join the existing on-call rotation to support urgent production issues as well as user requests for assistance with tooling and pipelines. Build Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments Utilize Datadog for monitoring and observability and use it to track down hard to solve issues. Maintain and improve our existing Istio networking implementation for use across all teams Partner with other teams to identify pain points and understand how we can work to resolve them through either existing tooling or by creating a new optimal solution Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equitable work experience 5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience, with a track record of building scalable APIs Proficient in Python, Typescript, and/or Go Expertise with AWS cloud provider and its infrastructure as a service offerings Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker Knowledge of infrastructure as code such as Terraform Strong understanding of cloud-native design patterns, secure AI API integration, and service scalability Strong problem-solving abilities and solid production debugging skills Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering teams Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and/or related certification/s Experience with services meshes within Kubernetes such as Istio Experience developing developer tooling Strong understanding of large, complex distributed systems Experience implementing and improving monitoring and alerting systems. Building dashboards to help better visualize the information Ability to architect and document new services and features #DISNEYTECH The hiring range for this position in Glendale, California is $136,038 to $182,490 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidates geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
