Senior Network Development Engineer (NDE) focused on design and support of network fabric and systems. At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), we build the future of the cloud for Enterprises as a diverse team of fellow creators and inventors. We act with the speed and attitude of a start-up, with the scale and customer-focus of the leading enterprise software company in the world. This role emphasizes design and support of the network fabric, using deep networking protocol knowledge combined with programming skills to support automation in a production environment. We seek builders who can drive cloud-scale technology design and operations. Responsibilities
Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale, global Oracle cloud computing environment (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - OCI). Participates in network solution and architecture design process. Responsibility for developing standalone features. Decomposes designs into executable tasks and executes those tasks, using existing procedures and tools; collaborates with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables. Participates in operational rotations as primary or secondary; provide break-fix support for events and serve as escalation point for remediation; participate in post-event root cause analysis. Collaborates with network vendor technical account teams and internal QA to drive bug resolution and assist in qualification of new firmware and/or operating systems; may participate in development of RFQ/RFPs. Coordinates with networking automation services for development and integration of support tooling. May serve as technical SME in cross-functional activities. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience 3-5+ years of related professional experience Experience with networking protocols such as BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS Experience with automation systems, framework design/use and deployment Experience with network modeling and programming – YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF Knowledge of network security design, system performance characterization and testing Knowledge of data flow and telemetry design, deployment and operation Capable of working under some supervision Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment Demonstrated knowledge of Python for automation and datacenter design Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Excellent judgment in influence for product roadmap direction, features, and priorities Additional Qualifications
