Overview
The Director of Enterprise Application Services (EAS) provides leadership for planning, implementation and ongoing support for the University’s administrative information systems. Major enterprise systems in the Director’s portfolio include HR and finance ERP modules, the student information system, facilities management system, the personnel timekeeping system, the academic web portal, and other cloud and on‑prem services. The EAS Director leads a staff of approximately 18 professionals, including recruiting, mentoring, professional development, and supervisory responsibilities. Working with five other ETS directors, the Director provides institutional leadership for planning, policy, and operations for enterprise IT services with a focus on administrative applications. The Director collaborates with senior University business offices and client offices at all levels, and with other ETS directors, to strategize, maintain, and develop the next phase of enterprise resource planning. The Director reports to the CIO and is a member of the ETS leadership team.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership for planning, implementation and ongoing support of the University’s administrative information systems.
Oversight of major enterprise systems including ERP modules for HR and finance, student information, facilities management, timekeeping, and the academic portal; ensure integration with external cloud services and maintain data integrity and security.
Recruit, mentor, and supervise a staff of approximately 18 professionals; oversee personnel development and performance management.
Collaborate with the Associate Director and other ETS directors to set strategy, policy and operations for enterprise IT services.
Identify opportunities to adopt new technologies and services that support the University’s core business offices (student, financial, facilities, and human resources).
Partner with University offices to plan and implement ERP and related systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance requirements.
Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and present information effectively to senior leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with ongoing education in computing/information systems and services.
Eight years of experience in organizations that implement and maintain information systems and services, including programming and system analysis/designer work in an ERP environment.
Demonstrated ability to define requirements, evaluate options, and implement new information services platforms, products and services.
Supervisory experience leading a large technical team.
Experience collaborating with clients to identify opportunities and translate emerging technologies into valuable client applications.
Strong collaboration, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Experience managing a balance of hosted and cloud-based applications.
Experience presenting technical information to non-technical audiences.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with enterprise systems such as Banner or PeopleSoft ERP in a higher education environment.
Pay and Benefits Anticipated pay range: $145,000–$160,000.
Additional Information
A probationary period may be required.
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and other locations, in accordance with University policy.
