WSP is seeking a

Senior Architect

to join our Buildings AE Team in

Boston, MA . This role may require reporting to the Portland, ME office once per week.

Overview Provide local leadership in technical excellence for the design, conceptual development, and construction of building projects in the public and private sector. Responsibilities include concept visualization, preparation of drawings, specifications, budgets, and construction documents, and presenting design proposals. Lead architectural project teams to generate drawings, renderings, and documentation, and manage deliverables and client relationships to maintain high-quality work.

Responsibilities

Direct, facilitate, and support multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of project development.

Work closely with engineering design teams and project managers to develop overall design and building systems concepts for new buildings and renovations.

Provide technical project leadership, supervise the preparation of architectural deliverables, and verify accuracy against project requirements, constructability, and code compliance.

Apply current architectural design techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Manage and support staff development, mentoring, and coaching of junior and mid-level staff.

Contribute to improving project delivery standards to ensure consistently high-quality work.

Strengthen client relationships and assist in pursuing new work by leveraging existing relationships and developing new clients.

Demonstrate industry leadership and support business development.

Stay current with the latest architecture techniques and practices.

Collaborate with professionals across disciplines to provide trusted-advisor services and future-ready solutions.

Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and exercise responsible financial decision-making.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or closely related discipline.

Registered Architect in the US.

10+ years of architecture and design experience with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale.

Experience with industrial, manufacturing, and/or public sector projects.

Strong knowledge of design, industry advancements, construction methodology, and sustainable design practices.

Ability to support engineering-driven and architecturally driven projects.

Ability to perform thorough technical reviews in support of the office’s Quality Control program.

Effective technical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated with excellent leadership, collaboration, and team-building skills.

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to comply with WSP’s safety policies.

Preferred Qualifications

NCARB certificate holder.

Degree from an NAAB-accredited program.

LEED and/or WELL Accredited Professional.

State and local government experience.

Industrial campus master planning and project programming experience.

BIM experience.

Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $140,000 - $185,000
