Overview
Role: Entry Level Civil Engineer – Civil/Site Development
The Civil/Site Development Group at GBA is looking for an entry level civil engineer to join our team at our office in Austin, Texas. The Civil/Site team provides site design and construction documents for a wide variety of commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential developments including mixed use, office, retail, multi- and single-family residential, warehouse/distribution, medical, and recreational facilities.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design and preparation of site engineering plans, including site plan layouts, site grading, storm drainage, water and sanitary sewer design, utility coordination, street design, and erosion control plans.
Coordinate with project team, utility providers, contractors, and permitting authorities.
Perform design tasks required for effective and efficient delivery under the direction of a senior engineer.
Prepare construction drawings and permit submittals.
Assist with the collection and analysis of field data.
Prepare and maintain technical reports.
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent
0-2 years of experience; previous internships for land/site development a plus
Adept at working on fast-paced projects
Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, Bluebeam and Microsoft Word and Excel software preferred
Possess effective communication skills, both written and oral
Self-motivated
Must be able to work effectively both on a team and individually
