The TBS Manager is responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of all client tax returns. Advanced technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas, along with well-developed and applied management and supervisory skills are required. The TBS Manager supports the Firm’s goals and values through all professional communications and maintains positive working relationships. Essential Functions

Become a role model who will demonstrate consistent integrity within the professional environment and provide an example for the staff to learn from and model for their success. Perform technical tax reviews and approve all tax returns of any complexity. Assume full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegate to the various tax preparers as necessary. Delegate and manage tax research projects to achieve an accurate and efficient product. Participate actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts to assist the A&A department with larger clients. Act as a resource for tax preparers and A&A staff on specific tax issues and/or questions. Participate actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts with larger clients. Assume tax preparation responsibility for the more complex business returns. Orchestrate and lead periodic meetings (in the event the Director is absent) during busy season with TBS Partners and Staff. Supervise Tax Staff and provide on-the-job training. Work to develop responsible, trained staff by assisting in recruiting, performance evaluations, developing training aids, and acting as an instructor in professional development programs. Assume responsibility for the smooth flow of tax returns through the tax preparation system to guarantee accurate, complete, and timely preparation and delivery of all clients’ tax returns. Possess complete knowledge of the Firm’s philosophy and opinions on tax matters. Maintain knowledge of general economic and political trends of possible tax or other legislation that could affect the business climate. Other Functions

Prepare reports and projects as requested from time to time by the Partners and/or Directors. Research and evaluate tax preparation and software to recommend to the Partners. Develop personal priority goals and adhere to them. Assist the Partners and Directors with planning the team’s business goals for the year. Actively participate in community involvements, including leadership roles on boards and/or service organizations. Participate with the Partners in marketing efforts, including proposal developments and prospect calls. Actively participate in the Firm’s practice development efforts through involvement with referral sources, community, and industry activities. Manage a group of TBS Staff, including their career development, training, professional development, productivity, and performance. Evaluate the performance of TBS Staff and provide verbal and written feedback regularly. Proactively mentor and develop the technical and business development skills of TBS Staff. Participate in the annual review process of team members. Participate in other administrative activities or other duties as requested by the Partners and/or Directors. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation Licensed CPA 5+ years of public accounting tax experience Seniority level
