The architectural project manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, detailing, and construction of building projects. This role participates in all stages of the project including preliminary design, planning and approvals, construction documents, and construction administration. The candidate should have a strong focus on architectural design and detailing, building code compliance, project time management, budget, team management, and technical quality. As the firm's service offerings include full project engineering, this team member will be expected to coordinate their work with the other members of the engineering team(s) and should have an understanding of building and structural systems. Note: This position is primarily based in an office environment; field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Responsibilities Analysis of project context, building materials, and precedents Conceptual design of building in plan, section, and elevation 3D visualization of design concepts through various mediums including but not limited to hand sketching, computerized renderings, and physical models Project site planning, zoning/local code analysis and application Building Code analysis and application Designs and details for architectural systems including building envelope and interiors Attends meetings with owners, clients, or consultants as needed Assists staff in the development of technical documentation, proposals, and presentations to clients Communicates design requirements with contractors, consultants, and clients to determine project scope and feasibility Executes specific architectural studies and design analyses Performs project job site visits during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes
Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communications skills and organizational efficiency Knowledge of building codes, standards, structures, systems, construction materials, and specifications Ability to function comfortably, gain trust, confidence, and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals including consultants, contractors, vendors, and the COAR team Efficiency in all phases of project development from schematic design through contract administration Working experience/proficiency in Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office/Project (experience with Revit a plus) Ability to work in a fast-paced design environment B.Arch with minimum 5 years experience
