Network Security Engineer
in
South Burlington, VT

Camp Springs, MD .
Responsibilities
Support the following technologies with expert knowledge: BGP, DMVPN, EIGRP, MPLS, VRF, QoS, PBR, VSS, HSRP, STP, Cisco Meraki stack, WAN optimization technologies, and Cisco Nexus.
Transport-layer engineering to validate a customized, metered approach to modernize and enhance functionalities such as IPv6, SIP, and H.323, as well as other industry best practices.
Maintain and improve existing protocols such as QoS, Metro-Ethernet, and SONET technologies for CONUS and OCONUS locations. Experience with DMVPN, MPLS, and cloud hosted Equinix sites.
Collaborate with vendors such as Cisco, Infoblox, and Palo Alto. Support high-availability LAN/WAN planning. Automate advanced routing capabilities, WAN path control remediation solutions, and customized price-to-performance cost-savings data.
Investigate the USCIS WAN and develop new solutions, embracing software-defined networking, including policy-based routing.
Design and engineer IPv6 implementation and support strategy, including migration of devices, sites, and applications. Design and architect a new Private IP WAN solution.
Establish a repeatable methodology for architecture and engineering solutions from concept to delivery of operations. Architect, engineer, and maintain cloud direct connects and third-party interconnects where needed. Provide recommendations for new products and technology supporting all IT infrastructure layers.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience.
Experience designing and engineering security-minded solutions.
Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Google, or Azure).
Proven experience with DevOps concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
One or more relevant industry certifications such as CCIE or CCNP.
Familiar with tools including ServiceNow, GitHub, Jira, Confluence.
Experience with ITIL, DevSecOps and Agile concepts.
Experience supporting government contracts.
Clearance Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability Clearance prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements
Office work, typically sedentary with some movement around the office.
