This position supports the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBICoE) in Silver Spring, MD as part of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Research Support Division. TBICoE is a mission-driven, matrixed program that develops and disseminates tools, education, and training related to traumatic brain injury (TBI) for DoD medical personnel, service members, veterans, and their families. This position is contingent upon contract award.
HJF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine and serving military, medical, academic and government clients by administering and managing scientific programs.
Responsibilities
Manages curriculum functions under the direction of the University Registrar, including accreditation, catalog systems, SIS, LMS, and other administrative applications and systems as needed.
Coordinates staffing tasks related to registration, course scheduling and other curriculum-related activities.
Increase awareness and understanding of clinical care standards of practice for TBI.
Train health care teams who treat service members and veterans with TBI.
Promote TBICoE clinical tools and disseminate TBI resources to service members, veterans, families, and caregivers.
Conduct outreach activities and inform leaders of the impact of TBI on unit performance.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor, including required training for the role.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in education or healthcare field required
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience working with DoD/VA/community providers, patients and families with issues pertaining to TBI education and training.
Experience in the care of patients with TBI (inpatient, outpatient, or rehabilitation settings).
TBICoE/DHA background in TBI preferred.
Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) certification preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of community education and outreach techniques.
Basic TBI clinical and policy issues.
Excellent communication skills, including writing ability; effective public speaking as needed.
Interpersonal skills; ability to mentor subordinates and manage conflict.
Understanding of DoD and VA clinical networks to identify training access points.
Adherence to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance, including background check and drug screening.
Physical Capabilities
Lifting: up to 25 lbs.
Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
Work Environment
Office setting.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $73,800-$125,600. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
