Description Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapons has an opening for a Principal/Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer with an active clearance to join our team in Northridge, CA. This role supports one of our programs for defining and architecting a secured missile weapon system and requires close collaboration with team members from other projects, external partners, and customers on security architecture designs.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement software for embedded devices and systems based on requirements.

Design, develop, code, test and debug system software.

Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle activities in an agile environment.

Software requirements verification and validation.

Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available. The selected candidate is required to be on-site in Northridge, CA.

Basic qualifications – Principal Embedded Software Engineer (T03)

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field with 5 years of Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience, or Master's with 3 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.

Self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a team environment.

Experience with one or more software languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#.

Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance.

Experience in embedded software development.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; United States citizenship is a prerequisite.

At least one year of experience working in an Agile team.

Basic qualifications – Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer (T04)

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field with 8 years of Computer Engineering or Software Engineering experience, or Master's with 6 years Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.

Self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a team environment.

Experience with one or more software languages/technologies: C/C++, Java, Python, C#.

Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance.

Experience in embedded software development.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; United States citizenship is a prerequisite.

At least one year of experience working in an Agile team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with software version control tools such as Git.

Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.

Experience with embedded C++ optimization and tools such as VxWorks.

Hands-on hardware integration and testing experience.

Ability to debug complex integrated applications or test setup issues.

Experience using Atlassian Tool Suite: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, SonarQube.

Active Secret Clearance.

Salary Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $171,700.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
