We’re seeking a strategic and forward-thinking
Enterprise Architect
to design and implement high-impact technology solutions that power Florida’s transportation future. In this role, you’ll lead enterprise-level architecture initiatives, integrate cutting-edge platforms, and deliver secure, scalable solutions for mission-critical transportation systems. Define and update enterprise architecture to align with FDOT’s long-term IT and business strategy. Lead the design and integration of enterprise-level applications and custom solutions, including major enhancements, interfaces, and new functionality. Provide expert recommendations on technology adoption, roadmaps, and emerging tools. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure seamless application integration. Establish and enforce architecture, coding, and integration standards for maximum efficiency and reuse. Oversee the design, testing, and deployment of complex, business-critical software solutions. Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and platforms to keep FDOT ahead of the curve. Partner with leadership on major projects including toll collection systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and other statewide initiatives. Develop documentation and governance for technical standards and system changes. Serve as a mentor, advisor, and change agent for technical teams across the department. What We’re Looking For
Required Experience: 7–10 years in multiple IT disciplines, including 2–3 years in tolling, ITS, or transit architecture. Advanced knowledge of enterprise architecture, application systems design, and integration. Strong track record in designing, coding, testing, and deploying large-scale software solutions. Desired Skills & Experience: Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL (packages, cursors, triggers, collections) and strong SQL performance tuning skills. Expertise in database design, modeling, normalization, and optimization. Experience in database administration, backup/recovery, and security. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and code review abilities. Experience creating architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and system designs. Hands-on experience with modern frameworks, cloud platforms, and integration technologies. Role Details
