Powertrain Engine Calibration Engineer - Senior

What You Will Do
The Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing the optimal engine calibration to meet LEVIII/IV emissions standards while optimizing drivability and fuel economy.
Responsible for calibration maturity and development of subfeatures resulting in an overall optimal propulsion system.
Spans the lifecycle of development through conceptual phase, strategy development, calibration execution to subsystem and vehicle-level validation including robustness evaluations.
Work across all propulsion system concepts and varying levels of electrification, in collaboration with a team of calibration engineers to deliver system-level functional objectives mainly related to emissions compliance.
Plan and coordinate daily activities of propulsion dynos and vehicle-related testing, including collaboration with technicians and laboratory support engineers.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
Demonstrated 5+ years of work experience in spark ignition engine controls and calibration.
Strong familiarity with engine system development including combustion, valvetrain, fuel system, boost systems, EGR systems, aftertreatment systems, controls and diagnostics.
Feature calibration experience with exposure to optimizing driveability, emissions, and fuel economy.
Experience in launching applications meeting US-based ACC/ACCII standards and regulations as well as ROW markets including Enlarged Europe, APAC, LATAM.
Data acquisition experience collecting and processing data, providing meaningful summaries and next steps.
Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently.
Effective communication skills and ability to present information clearly to colleagues and management.
100% onsite position.
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
Demonstrated 1+ years of experience in leading product applications conforming to US-based ACC/ACCII standards and regulations as well as ROW markets (Enlarged Europe, APAC, LATAM).
DFSS green belt or higher.
Execution of problem solving techniques (RedX, Six Sigma, 3L5W, Kaizen, 5S).
