Security Systems Integration Engineer (onsite)
Overview
Final engineering and implementation of simple to complex Security Management Systems (SMS). Ability to understand complex system architectures and come up with creative solutions and perform analysis of new and existing products to make recommendations. Location
Columbia, MD (onsite) Responsibilities Collaborate with clients, project managers, and solution architects to design and implement complex security and technology integrations (e.g., access control, video surveillance, alarm systems). Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to system integration to ensure all systems operate smoothly and efficiently. Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, integration processes, and troubleshooting procedures. Perform system testing and quality assurance to ensure integrations meet client requirements and Convergint Federal / SigNet Technologies' standards. Train client personnel on operation and maintenance of integrated systems. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to remain informed about the latest advances. Work with cross-functional teams (sales, project management, customer support) to deliver solutions that meet or exceed client expectations. Other duties as assigned within reason of the role.
Qualifications
Industry specifics Minimum 3-5 years' experience with Access Control, Physical Security, Intrusion Detection and Video Management Systems. Hands-on experience with Lenel, Software House, and AMAG access control systems. Hands-on experience with Pelco, American Dynamics, and Milestone video management systems. Hands-on experience with PivCLASS or Innometriks card access and enrollment systems. Experience designing, implementing, and integrating complex applications such as Access Control, Video Management Systems, and Intercoms. Knowledge of HSPD-12. Ability to read electrical and architectural blueprints. Familiarity with electronic test equipment (meters, LANalyzer, scopes).
IT Specifics
3-5 years' experience with servers, PCs, and network equipment. Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems. Experience with database technologies (Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle). Experience designing small to mid-sized routed networks. Experience working with Cisco, Juniper, or HP networking equipment.
Certifications (preferred but not required)
Access Control / Video Management Systems: Lenel, Software House, AMAG, Milestone, Genetec, American Dynamics, IDS (DMP-Bosch), PivCLASS (FICAM). Network Certifications: CCNA or higher, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Juniper JNCIA, CISSP.
Education
Associates or bachelors degree in Information Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field. Experience and/or military training can be considered in lieu of the degree. Desired certifications include CSEIP, PSP, CPP, MCSE, and various security manufacturing certifications.
Other Knowledge
Network security (preferred).
General Experience
At least three (3) years of current experience in technical security system integration.
Requirements
Willingness to travel to client sites globally, including international destinations, to oversee integration projects. United States Citizenship. Active driver's license. Ability to lift objects weighing 25-50 pounds; accommodations available if needed. Security clearance: The level of clearance required is determined by the agency. Convergint Federal may sponsor the clearance; you are responsible for obtaining and maintaining your clearance.
