The
Vice President of Business Development
is a leadership role responsible for driving Genpro’s growth strategy by leading a team of business development sales hunters dedicated to acquiring new business. This sales executive will set the vision, direction, and execution strategy for identifying, pursuing, and securing new clients across key verticals. The VP will serve as both a strategic leader and a hands-on executive, ensuring consistent pipeline growth, market penetration, and revenue expansion, while building and scaling a high-performing sales organization.
Must have experience with a brokerage / 3PL.
Strategic Leadership & Growth
Define, communicate, and execute Genpro’s business development strategy to expand the company’s customer base and market share.
Build, manage, and inspire a team of business development professionals focused on securing new business opportunities.
Establish sales goals, KPIs, and incentive structures to drive accountability and performance.
Partner with executive leadership to align business development objectives with broader company strategy.
New Business Acquisition
Lead the design and execution of prospecting, lead generation, and outreach strategies to drive consistent pipeline growth.
Identify, pursue, and secure strategic accounts within target industries.
Leverage market intelligence and industry insights to uncover growth opportunities.
Personally engage with high-value prospects and close marquee accounts.
Act as a senior face of Genpro in the marketplace, cultivating executive-level relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.
Represent Genpro at trade shows, industry events, and networking forums to enhance visibility and brand positioning.
Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective clients, offering innovative, tailored freight and logistics solutions.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
Track, measure, and report on business development performance to the CEO.
Use data-driven insights to refine strategies, improve conversion rates, and enhance team productivity.
Champion continuous improvement by incorporating market feedback and evolving customer needs into Genpro’s value proposition.
Qualifications
Experience:
10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven Expertise:
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing new business sales teams and exceeding revenue targets.
Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of transportation brokerage operations, freight markets, and supply chain logistics.
Leadership Skills:
Strong executive presence, motivational leadership, and ability to influence at all organizational levels.
Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strategic Mindset:
Skilled at building go-to-market strategies and driving execution.
Technology:
Proficient with CRM platforms, pipeline management tools, and sales analytics.
