Alluvionic is seeking a
Personnel Security Specialist
who will support the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA), Security and Emergency Management Staff (SEMS), in processing and adjudicating personnel security investigations for federal and contractor staff across all 94 U.S. Attorneys' Offices. This role ensures compliance with evolving federal security requirements related to National Security Information (NSI) and Public Trust determinations. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in federal personnel security practices and can apply updated policies in a dynamic, mission-critical environment. Must be a US citizen. Clearance Required: High-Risk Public Trust (T4). This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities
Process and monitor background investigations for federal and contract employees requiring access to classified and sensitive information.
Evaluate security forms (e.g., SF-85, SF-86) for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
Submit and track cases through e-QIP, DISS/JPAS, CVS, and other federal personnel security systems.
Interpret and implement evolving federal personnel security guidance, including suitability and national security eligibility standards.
Assist with preliminary adjudication of investigation results in accordance with Executive Orders 12968 and 13467, SEADs, and other applicable policies.
Maintain detailed case records and ensure documentation is handled in accordance with federal recordkeeping and privacy guidelines.
Provide administrative and technical support to senior security staff and EOUSA leadership.
Assist with policy development, security briefings, and coordination with investigative and adjudicative agencies (e.g., DCSA).
Stay informed on changes in personnel security policies, practices, and emerging requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant personnel security experience, or no degree with at least 8 years of relevant personnel security experience (including NSI and Public Trust case processing).
Practical experience implementing and adapting to changing federal background investigation requirements.
Familiarity with federal investigative systems and processes such as e-QIP, DISS/JPAS, and CVS.
Working knowledge of federal personnel security policies and adjudicative guidelines.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting DOJ, EOUSA, or other federal law enforcement or legal agencies.
Experience assisting with audits, compliance reviews, or data quality assurance.
Security-related certifications or relevant training (e.g., CDSE coursework).
Familiarity with insider threat, HSPD-12, or continuous evaluation initiatives.
