Position Summary RSI is currently recruiting an
Engineering Technical Advisor . Your role will be in working with NNSA SRS PMO under the direction of the RSI Program Manager. The mission of the PMO is to direct, administer and oversee the management, planning, technology development, design, construction, testing / commissioning and start-up of the government-owned, capital line-item projects at the Savannah River Site (SRS) safely within budget, schedule and quality requirements for the established Performance Baseline. You will assist NNSA PMO, IPT, Federal Project Directors and other NNSA Offices as needed with services to support management, technical and quality requirements necessary for the successful accomplishment of program and project roles, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities in accomplishing their mission.
This position is located at the Savannah River Site (SRS).
Primary Responsibilities
Lead or support major periodic design reviews and perform extensive evaluations of design packages for technical adequacy, integration, and maturity.
Perform detailed review of contractor engineering deliverables including but not limited to design system, processes, procedures, design criteria, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
Shadow and assess contractor assurance assessments of engineering subject matter activities.
Conduct or participate in subject matter project awareness and walk-through activities, including walking design spaces and conferring with engineers.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise to conduct independent technical assessments and reviews of engineering issues and risks through all project phases including Title II and III.
Job Knowledge/Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of International Building Codes, AISC, ASME, NEC, NEPA, and ACI codes and standards.
Demonstrated ability to review, understand, and communicate design calculation results, drawing requirements, and specification requirements for construction efforts.
Demonstrated experience developing construction resource loaded schedules that optimize construction installation sequences is a substantial plus.
Experience leading constructability assessments or reviews is a plus.
Heavy Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Experience and one or more of the following areas is a substantial plus: HVAC Installation, Electrical Installation, Welding, Instrumentation and Controls installation.
Experience at the Savannah River Site is a plus
Required Education and Experience
Must possess a degree in an Engineering, Science, or related discipline.
Must have a minimum of 10-20 years of directly relevant technical experience.
Experience must include a detailed history demonstrating the ability to resolve difficult technical issues to satisfactory and successful conclusion.
