The Quality Assurance Technician monitors the production process while following preventive measures to minimize food safety and quality issues. Ensure HACCP Plan, Food Quality Plan, and Good Manufacturing Practices are in place and followed. We are a candy company located in Azusa, CA.
Department: Quality Assurance Department. Direct Supervisor: Quality Assurance Manager. Shifts available: Day: 5:30am-2:30pm Swing: 2:00pm-10:30pm Starting Compensation: $20.00-$23.00/hr
If interested, please email your resume to (link removed)> Essential Functions: Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, SQF, GMP, HACCP, SOP regulations and policies, as well as company standards and specifications. Ensure that the production room, all production equipment, and utensils are clean for food handling. Verify that Scales are within specification. Ensure Monitoring equipment is calibrated correctly. Performs daily production hourly line checks to ensure finished product quality and integrity. Inspecting incoming raw materials and ingredients to ensure they meet established quality and safety standards before being used in production. Monitoring the production process to ensure they adhere to specifications and regulatory standards. Monitor Metal Detectors as part of HACCP Plan. Verify correct Production information (Traceability Codes, Date Codes, Bar Codes, and Labelling) (Per Run). Perform inspections and tests on finished products to verify they comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and customer specifications. Conducting various tests by collecting samples in the lab, including microbiological, chemical, and physical analysis, to assess product safety and quality Oversee operating and maintaining laboratory instruments and testing devices like pH meters, ATP luminometers, incubators and water activity meters to ensure accurate and reliable testing results. Organize and maintain documents and records, ensuring their accuracy, integrity, and accessibility using QT9 software. Accurately documenting all test results, inspection findings, and corrective actions, maintaining meticulous records for audits and traceability. Promptly reporting any deviations from quality standards or safety procedures to supervisors or quality managers and participating in investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Help to create nutritional labels. Check the Production Room; all Production Equipment and Utensils are clean, sanitary, and stored in the proper location. Perform test on environmental samples taken from food contact surfaces. Verify HACCP checks are being conducted according to the HACCP program. Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the company. Requirements: Must have 1-3 years QA/QC Experience (Food manufacturing preferred) Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, and reach. Ability to lift 10 pounds during the regular product inspections. Finger and wrist dexterity to record daily reports.
