Hospitality Confidential is pleased to present an exciting new Opening General Manager opportunity with a premium fine dining restaurant group in San Francisco. This highly anticipated concept will anchor a major new development in the city, offering 200+ seats, expansive outdoor dining, two private dining rooms for corporate and social events. The restaurant will showcase elevated Tuscan-inspired cuisine rooted in coastal traditions, a world-class wine program, and award-winning design that blends California energy with Italian elegance. The General Manager will be responsible for leading the successful opening and long-term operations of this new property. This role will oversee all front-of-house operations while collaborating closely with the culinary and events teams to ensure seamless guest experiences. The General Manager will be accountable for operational excellence, financial performance, team development, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and service culture.
About the Position We are looking for a General Manager to head up the opening of this new location. We would like a strong leader on the floor who can provide guidance and coaching to our dining room team. The GM role will be responsible for leading line ups, providing support on the floor during service, upholding and elevating our service standards, providing strong communication with the kitchen and private events team. They should be outgoing, positive and have a strong background in hospitality and fine dining restaurants, as well as a passion for learning and growth. We are seeking a candidate that has knowledge of, and a desire to learn more about Italian wine and cuisine. They should provide exceptional guest experiences and continually strive to exceed guests' expectations with every opportunity. Outside of service responsibilities will include weekly manager meetings, financial oversight, scheduling, and working towards cultivating a healthy team dynamic.
Skills & Requirements
Minimum 4 years of General Manager experience in fine dining.
Proven new restaurant opening expertise (strongly recommend).
Strong knowledge of wine, ideally with formal education or certification.
Skilled in guest relations, service training, and people development.
Ability to manage a large team in a high-volume, elevated service environment (5M–10M+ in revenue preferred).
Strong financial acumen - should be able to read and manage P&Ls.
Adaptability, resourcefulness, and ability to lead through change.
Passion for hospitality, mentorship, and continuous learning.
Performance-Based Bonus: $10K annually, paid quarterly
