Management, training and mentoring a team of Estimators (up to 8 individuals). Coordinates multiple projects within team availability. Maintains standard departmental operating procedures. Thorough vetting of all department estimates. Participates in estimate reviews. Review of project costs for trends and anomalies. Support the preconstruction process. Training and mentoring of estimators. Updating and maintaining budgetary pricing catalog. Conceptual budgeting and estimating, including managing historical estimate database and conceptual estimating program and preliminary design as required for budgeting and estimating. Manage Accubid Enterprise (Accubid Anywhere) database. Manage Accubid LiveCount (LiveCount Cloud) database. Project interviews / presentations. Develop and review estimate scope and narrative. Creation of Excel pricing worksheets and bills of materials. RFQ process for major material and equipment packages. Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for completeness and accuracy. Regular interface and liaison with all departments. Assist in annual strategic planning. Work with estimating team to establish annual goals and create tracking metrics to measure. Conduct periodic site visits to confirm estimating approach is consistent with construction means and methods. Qualifications and competencies
10+ years of electrical estimating experience with commercial, data center, laboratory, institutional, high-rise, hospitality, and healthcare projects ranging up to $50M. Experience with design build/conceptual and plans and specifications estimating. Ability to find information crucial to electrical scope by reviewing all drawing sets (civil, landscape, architectural, mechanical, etc.). Ability to perform arithmetic in all units of measure; proficiency with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Supervisory experience and ability to lead, train and evaluate staff; manage performance and resolve issues as needed. Intermediate to expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Physical Demands
