Our client, a leading beauty and retail company, is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Strategic Sourcing Manager to join the procurement team. This role will be responsible for negotiating supplier agreements, guiding stakeholders through the intake-to-contract process, and providing strategic sourcing support across multiple business units, specifically in software (on premise and SaaS contracts), hardware, cloud services, and IT professional services. The ideal candidate will bring strong market knowledge, proven negotiation expertise, and the ability to build trusted partnerships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Please note this is a hybrid, 4-month contract role with a potential of conversion based in San Francisco, CA. Pay will be $40/hr.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives for technology-related categories, including software, hardware, cloud services, and IT professional services. Negotiate complex supplier agreements to secure favorable terms, mitigate risk, and maximize value for the organization. Manage the intake-to-contract process, ensuring stakeholders are guided effectively and procurement best practices are followed. Launch and oversee RFP/RFI processes, ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and alignment with business needs. Conduct thorough market research and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize vendor performance, and uncover emerging industry trends. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with primary stakeholders in Technology and E-Commerce to understand priorities and deliver sourcing solutions that support business objectives. Partner with legal, finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure contractual compliance and mitigate operational and commercial risks. Track and report on sourcing activities, performance metrics, and savings achieved. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) preferred. 5+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience, with a strong focus on technology categories. Demonstrated expertise in negotiating software (on premise and SaaS) contracts, hardware, cloud services, and IT professional services agreements. Proven success managing complex RFP/RFI processes and supplier relationships. Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct market research and interpret benchmarking data. Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across multiple levels of the organization.
