Overview
SCI, the leading executive search firm in the real estate industry, is seeking a seasoned General Manager to oversee a large, urban portfolio for a 45+ year old developer/operator of affordable and market-rate multifamily, with a history of transacting on twenty thousand units. Position will be part of a high impact, revitalization project interfacing regularly with internal development/construction team. Responsibilities
Lead a team including an Assistant General Manager, Maintenance Director, Residential Property Managers, Recertification Specialists, and various administration and maintenance staff. Must know affordable housing (preferably NYCHA) rules and regulations. Ensure compliance with agencies such as DOB, HPD, DOHMH, and DSNY. Maintain professional working relationship with residents, ownership, vendors, inspectors, regulatory agencies, etc. Prepare annual budgets and identify variances in monthly/quarterly statements. Prepare for and complete property and file audits/inspections and responses. Maintain compliance with all Federal, State and Local rules and regulations including but not limited to LL52, LL84, and LL97. Qualifications
Numerous years of supervisory level affordable housing management experience. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to diplomatically handle direct interfacing with community leaders, politicians and tenant associations. Experience with Yardi Voyager. Seniority level
