Overview
As our membership base continues to grow, we are seeking an ambitious and energetic Business Development Director to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Head of Membership, Business Development, this role will drive sustainable growth, all while forging strong relationships with CMOs, marketing leaders, and teams of the world’s premier brands leading them to an ANA membership leveraging resources, tools, and connections.
Key Responsibilities
Leverage network of new and existing relationships to prospect new business opportunities within an assigned territory.
Generate a robust prospect pipeline through the utilization of strategic marketing and lead generation initiatives and tools.
Research new business opportunities across all industries, digging deeper into their marketing teams and structures to identify key contacts.
Conduct outreach through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings to communicate the benefits of membership.
Prepare and deliver presentations that highlight the compelling value proposition of joining the ANA.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual membership sales targets.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the marketing and advertising ecosystem.
Remain updated on the ANA’s offerings, industry knowledge and best practices.
Stay informed and monitor the competitive landscape, industry trends and market conditions.
Adhere to ANA’s vetting process for new member acquisitions (eligibility, requirements, approval, etc.) and use tools to track leads, sales activities, and interactions.
Continuously update and maintain accurate records of prospective members.
Generate regular reports on sales activities, conversion rates and other key performance indicators, including forecasts of acquisitions and respective revenue.
Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to better highlight the strength of the ANA with prospective members.
Provide input on marketing materials and strategies to attract potential members.
Contribute to internal strategic projects and planning.
Demonstrate exceptional understanding of business fundamentals.
T ravel as required to meet with members and prospects.
Professional Experience and Qualifications
Strong sales and marketing background with ability to develop solid relationships with C-Suite and marketing leaders (minimum 5 -7 years).
Self-driven, results-oriented, with a positive outlook and deep expertise in providing top-notch client service and partnership.
C-Suite and executive-level engagement and communication skills; able to articulate and deliver clear and concise messages internally/externally with excellent presentation skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple and complex relationships and competing priorities.
Must be comfortable with data and technology. Ability to identify and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to make balanced decisions.
Start-up sense of urgency and entrepreneurial mindset.
Business planning ability to work independently and manage personal and team member deliverables and deadlines.
Possess a persistent desire to go above and beyond, taking initiative and thinking strategically.
Proactive and flexible, a “roll up your sleeves and get it done” team player able to work in a fluid environment with changing priorities.
Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
Salary and Total Rewards Package Starting pay range: $95,000 to $105,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
