DianaHR (YC W24)
Client Operations Manager (HR Process)
DianaHR (YC W24), San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
Overview
DianaHR is reshaping how small and medium-sized businesses manage their HR and people operations. We provide AI-enhanced support to help businesses set up payroll, stay compliant, manage onboarding, and handle employee documentation. Our team combines smart technology with human judgment to give business owners peace of mind.
We’re a small, early-stage startup — which means the work is fast-paced, often chaotic, and constantly evolving. We work hard, move quickly, and value people who can bring structure to ambiguity, stay steady under pressure, and thrive in the messiness that comes with building something new.
What You’ll Do As a Client Operations Manager, you’ll:
Own client relationships
Act as the day-to-day account manager for multiple small business clients
Build trust through proactive communication, timely updates, and high-quality execution
Drive HR-related operations
Oversee and execute HR workflows related to payroll, onboarding, and employment documentation
Payroll registration and setup
Offer letters, onboarding, and employment documentation
Basic benefits enrollment support
State and local compliance filings
Coordinate with third-party vendors (e.g., Gusto, ADP, brokers) to move processes forward
Support internal operations
Manage internal tracking for client deliverables, deadlines, and compliance requirements
Identify risks or delays early and take ownership of driving solutions
Partner with Product and Engineering to improve our tools and automation
Mentor and lead within the team
Serve as a pod leader, training and mentoring junior operators
Contribute to process development and internal playbooks
Help shape our operational strategy while also jumping in on day-to-day execution
Who You Are You don’t need an HR background, but you do need to be a strong operator. We’re looking for someone who:
Has 2–4 years of experience in client operations, customer success, strategy, or startup ops roles
Has excellent process management skills — you’re able to juggle multiple workflows and ensure nothing slips through the cracks
Communicates professionally and proactively with external clients
Learns quickly — especially when navigating new tools, regulations, or workflows
Is highly organized and detail-oriented. Accuracy is critical in this role
Thrives in a startup environment: adaptable, resourceful, and solution-oriented
Enjoys bringing structure to ambiguity
Hard worker who doesn’t mind chaos
Has experience with tools like Google Drive, Notion, Slack, Zendesk, or similar
Bonus points if you have
Experience supporting or working adjacent to HR, payroll, or legal teams
