Overview

The Manager, Foundations and Government Relations supports the Senior Director of Foundation and Government Relations in maintaining and growing institutional giving to the Arts Center. This is a collaborative development role during a time of organizational growth and innovation. The position supports a growing portfolio totaling upwards of $2.5M in annual revenue and contributes to an institutional fundraising effort of approximately $7M per year, including foundation, corporate, and government funding. The Manager must possess excellent organizational and project management skills to strengthen the administrative structure of the Foundation and Government Relations team: responsibilities include maintaining an accurate calendar of proposal and reporting deadlines, maintaining digital files, gathering cross-departmental information (program details, digital images, financial data), and conducting prospect research to uncover new funding opportunities. The Manager must also have strong writing and communication skills to steward existing relationships and cultivate new ones through the creation of proposals, reports, acknowledgments, and other written communications as needed. Base pay range:

$75,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr Reports to:

Exempt – Full Time Responsibilities

Work with Senior Director, Foundation and Government Relations to meet annual foundations and government revenue goals of upwards of $2.5M through management, cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of institutional donors Manage grant processing cycle – from entering projections to managing engagement plans to booking pledges – and maintain calendar of tasks and deadlines in Salesforce Manage portfolio of annual foundation, government, and corporate foundation supporters by preparing compelling grant proposals, compliance documentation, comprehensive final reports, acknowledgment letters and other materials as needed Maintain range of grant proposal attachments, ensuring that IRS paperwork, organizational and project budgets, board lists, records of institutional support, and other common documentation are current and properly formatted Work toward becoming an active front-line fundraiser by managing and growing a portfolio of foundation donors and prospects Conduct regular prospect research to identify potential institutional sources of support and implement strategies to generate revenue in partnership with Senior Director Configure financial budgets for proposals and reports Assist with department-wide writing projects and presentations Attend NJPAC programs supported and/or attended by foundation and government donors and provide support during occasional development events in the early morning, evenings and weekends Manage ticketing and other special requests from foundation and government donors Qualifications

Three to five years demonstrated experience in a non-profit development office Experience with grant writing and non-profit fundraising from foundations, corporations and/or government entities Strong writing and communication skills with an excellent command of grammar, syntax and style The ability to compose presentations of varying length and complexities including original narratives, occasional graphics and financial spreadsheets Excellent time management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to anticipate and meet strict deadlines A self-starter with a proactive, results-oriented work style who is at ease in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and responsive to unanticipated needs and opportunities Team-oriented — with proven ability to collaborate — and good listening skills Ability to build relationships and consensus across internal teams Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Interest in the arts Commitment to the mission and values of NJPAC Experience with Salesforce software preferred Bachelor’s degree preferred Seniority level
