Director of Structural Engineering
We are seeking an experienced
Director of Structural Engineering
to lead technical design, oversee project execution, and mentor engineering teams on a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, and specialized facilities. This is a leadership role requiring deep expertise in structural systems, project management, and client collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Lead structural investigations, site assessments, and technical reviews.
Direct and manage the preparation of design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering technical growth and professional development.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships to ensure successful delivery.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates.
Oversee the design of structural systems, including foundations, mat slabs, tilt-up and precast structures, structural steel framing and concrete systems, masonry, wood, and light-gauge metal framing.
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, insurance standards, and client-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in structural design and engineering leadership.
Strong working knowledge of IBC, FBC, ASCE-7, AISC, and ACI standards.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, RAM Structural System, RISA 3D, Enercalc, and Excel.
Professional Engineer (PE) license; multi-state licensure (CA, IL, NY, WA) considered a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Base salary:
$170,000 – $190,000
(dependent on experience).
