This team develops design verification and automated production test solutions for Satellite Communications Programs.

You will be joining and helping to lead a team driving the development of automated test solutions for communication systems and sub-systems. Technologies may include analog, digital, signal processing, RF and software development. Mechanical design experience is a plus, relating to fixture development, adaptors and interconnect cabling. Software development for automating test stations in National Instruments TestStand, LabVIEW and/or LabWindows (CVI) is strongly recommended. Our team is involved in early phases of product development from concept through development cycle, into production and program sustainment.

What You Will Do

Develop test hardware and software from requirements definition through build and integration, followed by deployment to manufacturing or customer facilities. Design, support and integration skill sets may include multiple disciplines in communications, RF, analog, digital, firmware, as well as systems integration.

Proven project leadership knowledge, leading a multi-disciplined team through program execution and deployment. Schedule development and tracking for program planning/execution, while tracking deviations from plan to actual.

Proposal and bidding experience to foster new technologies and business growth overall.

In-depth knowledge of computer architecture, COTs equipment, interconnects/interfaces and standard communication protocols.

Proven skills in software development and integration using tools including NI TestStand, LabVIEW and/or LabWindows (CVI).

Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable effective collaboration with a multi-discipline team. Example: define and lead a Preliminary and Detailed Design Review.

Prepare and clearly present your work product at project status meetings.

Understand and commit to meeting established project budgets, schedules, and performance commitments.

Work with mechanical engineering to design and develop test adapters and fixturing; AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.

Ability to function autonomously with limited supervision as an individual contributor within a multi-functional team environment.

Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging, both independently and in collaboration with production and design engineering teams.

Qualifications You Must Have

Minimum of 8 years experience in engineering design and development, with leadership experience, preferably related to Test equipment development efforts.

Experience transitioning automated solutions to production environments, delivering hardware and software deliverables with on-site operator training.

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 5 years of experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, decision-making and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Experience with National Instruments software suite, including TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW.
