Overview
Director, Operations Technology is responsible for leading the strategy, design, implementation, and optimization of all store operations technology and supporting platforms across our 300-store omnichannel retail footprint. This leader ensures the seamless integration and performance of in-store systems, fulfillment solutions, inventory management platforms, and other critical operational technologies that enable both in-store and digital retail experiences.
The role blends technology leadership, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration to drive business growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in an evolving retail environment.
Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute the operations technology roadmap aligned with retail, supply chain, and omnichannel business goals.
Store Systems Leadership: Lead design, deployment, and optimization of in-store systems including mobile tools and real-time inventory tracking.
Omnichannel Fulfillment Enablement: Oversee technology for ship-from-store, curbside pickup, and click-and-collect to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Compliance & Security Governance: Ensure platforms meet all security, compliance, and regulatory requirements (PCI, data privacy, SOX).
Engineering Excellence: Direct teams in delivering scalable, high-availability, and high-performance solutions.
DevOps & Delivery Optimization: Champion DevOps, automation, and CI/CD practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining system stability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Merchandising, and E-Commerce to align technology with operational needs.
Reliability & Performance Management: Oversee incident response, disaster recovery, and optimization to meet SLAs.
Leadership & Talent Development: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing technology engineering team with deep retail systems expertise.

AVDG and GCPro headline the enterprise audio-visual integration business, delivering a best-in-class commercial and residential customer experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or a combination of experience and education; Master’s preferred.
10+ years of experience in technology engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles in a retail or hard goods consumer-focused environment and store operations tools.
Proven experience managing operations technology for large-scale, multi-location retail organizations (200+ store footprint preferred).
Prefer a strong background in POS systems, payment processing, order management, inventory systems, and retail integrations.
Experience delivering technology solutions that support omnichannel retail strategies.
Deep knowledge of retail store infrastructure, cloud and hybrid architectures, and integration technologies (APIs, middleware).
Expertise in high-availability systems, disaster recovery planning, and performance optimization.
Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities.

Pay Pay Rate: $163,000- $209,000 depending on background and experience.
