Position Overview Are you ready to apply your civil engineering expertise to projects that support those who serve? We are seeking an experienced

Civil Engineer SME

to support a major infrastructure initiative within the United States Coast Guard, funded through reconciliation legislation. This effort includes the construction of piers, barracks, training facilities, and other mission-critical structures. If you have a background in construction management—especially with military or federal projects—and are driven to make a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Provide civil engineering support, strategic advice, and oversight on new construction projects, including design review, site planning, and quality assurance.

Provide detailed analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for improvement on various technical aspects to optimize the development/maintenance of various projects.

Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and government officials to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines.

Participate in planning, cost estimation, and budgeting for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Ensure compliance with federal construction codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.

Conduct field visits, inspections, and technical assessments throughout the construction lifecycle.

Consult with client to define needs or problems, supervise studies, and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.

Support contract administration and technical documentation as required.

Required Skills And Experience

Strong professional background in civil engineering with direct experience in construction project management.

Experience working on government or military construction projects.

Familiarity with design standards, permitting, and engineering documentation for federal facilities.

Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance.

Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint, as well as various drafting software and project management systems.

Preferred Skills And Experience

Prior work with military construction or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Understanding of U.S. Coast Guard facility operations or maritime infrastructure is a plus.

PE (Professional Engineer) license or equivalent certification preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. Experience accepted in lieu of advanced degree(s).

Certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are a plus.

Clearance Requirements U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.

Work Location Hybrid - three (3) days a week at U.S. Coast Guard HQ (DHS St. Elizabeth's Campus in Washington, DC).

If this position is assigned to a Pantheon Data office location or client site, you'll work with colleagues and clients in person, as needed for specific client requirements.

Compensation The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $145,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and potentially contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
