The Central Support HR Director is a key member of the administrative leadership team for a diverse group of industry-leading seafood operations, processing a variety of species including crab, shrimp, whiting, halibut, shellfish, and steelhead. Our production plants operate in more than 10 locations across Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Alaska and Canada on both year-round and seasonal bases. This role is the senior HR professional partnered with the Administrative Executive for HR activities for Central Support team members, including recruiting and the HR programs and policies that impact all company team members, including compensation philosophy, benefits, payroll, training and development, internships, compliance, policies, and HR risk management.
The Central Support HR Director must be a hands-on, business-savvy leader who is passionate about servant leadership, curious learner, and can leverage HR expertise to drive business results.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Business Leadership: Serve on the administrative leadership team as the head HR professional for corporate team members and company oversight, build effective relationships, provide coaching, and drive team effectiveness while living our Covenants.
Recruiting and Staffing: Lead recruiting and staffing for corporate roles, maintain Central Support recruiting systems and external postings, develop job descriptions, post open positions, interview and onboard candidates.
Payroll and Benefits: Oversee payroll services and benefits administration (including health insurance, 401(k), and leave management) and ensure compliance with payroll regulations and filings.
HRIS: Maintain an accurate HRIS, ensure data integrity, implement system upgrades, and provide analytics and reporting to drive decisions.
Team Member Relations and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with EEOC, AAP, and FLSA; conduct internal investigations; mitigate HR risks; support audits and employment-related risk management.
Training, Development and Succession Planning: Oversee onboarding and training plans for Central Support team members; build bench strength, design organizational structures, succession plans, gap analyses, and leadership development strategies.
Compensation and Benefits Programs: Establish and maintain competitive compensation structures and incentive programs aligned with the company philosophy; support retention initiatives.
HR Operations: Manage performance and compensation review processes; oversee a payroll and benefits delivery team; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinate internships and leadership conferences.
HR Compliance and Policy: Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures; support audits; maintain personnel files and regulatory records in accordance with applicable laws.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Operating Unit HR Directors to align company-wide programs with vision, mission, and core values; coach and mentor HR staff to meet KPIs.
Supports other assigned responsibilities as needed to achieve the department’s goals.
What you bring to Pacific Seafood Required:
BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of HR management experience, including supervisory roles.
Experience managing the HR function in a multi-state, multi-location environment.
Advanced experience using the full Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, as required.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
HRCI or SHRM certification.
Previous HR experience in a manufacturing, food production, or distribution environment.
Previous experience with Ultimate Software (UKG).
Bilingual written, verbal and reading skills in English and Spanish.
