Overview
Title: SAP Funds & Grants Management Consultant (17026)
Location: Remote (Up to 25% travel to Little Rock, AR may be required)
Duration: 12+ months
Rate: Hourly Plus Expenses Reimbursed
Alignment: W2 or C2C (Vendors Not Permitted)
Project Overview Our client is undertaking a multi-year modernization initiative which includes the implementation of SAP S/4HANA to transform and streamline enterprise functions across finance, procurement, grants, and related domains. This strategic effort aims to replace legacy systems and deliver an integrated, future-ready ERP platform to support statewide operations.
Position Overview We are seeking an SAP Funds & Grants Management Consultant to support the ongoing implementation of the RISE SAP S/4HANA solution. This role will contribute to the successful design, configuration, and testing of grants-related processes, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and internal compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Assist in the configuration, testing, and validation of SAP S/4HANA Grants Management and Funds Management functionality.
Support the mapping and transformation of legacy grants/funds structures into SAP master data (e.g., Funds, Fund Centers, Functional Areas).
Prepare functional specifications and assist with solution design, data loads, and crosswalk development.
Support the reconciliation of funds and grant budgets with financial balances across modules.
Assist with interface and conversion efforts related to FM/GM modules (e.g., inbound grant data, outbound reporting).
Participate in end-user testing and validation, including preparation of test scripts and UAT documentation.
Support integration with related modules such as FI, CO, MM, SD, PS, and HCM.
Contribute to knowledge transfer and documentation efforts to ensure sustainability post go-live.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of SAP functional experience, including strong knowledge of Grants Management (GM) and Funds Management (FM) modules.
Hands-on experience in at least one S/4HANA public sector implementation or conversion project.
Strong understanding of federal/state grants processes, including budgeting, drawdowns, and compliance reporting.
Familiarity with FM tools such as FMDERIVE, Availability Control (AVC), and Budget Carryforward.
Experience preparing and executing test cases and supporting business process design.
Knowledge of integration points between FM/GM and other modules (e.g., FI, CO, HCM, MM).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation of functional specifications and transition plans.
