role at

Air Space Intelligence .

ASI enables success for the world's most complex operations. From critical infrastructure to defense, we serve major airlines and U.S. and allied government organizations, providing our partners with a decision advantage from planning to operations. Backed by top-tier investors—including Andreessen Horowitz, Spark Capital, and Renegade Partners—we are boldly investing in R&D and growth to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

What You Will Do Air Space Intelligence is building mission-critical, secure infrastructure for defense and intelligence applications. We are seeking a Security Engineer to harden and maintain cloud and software environments, ensuring compliance with U.S. government security standards. As a Security Engineer, you will help harden and maintain ASI’s cloud and endpoint environment (AWS GovCloud and Microsoft GCC High) while supporting compliance with U.S. government security standards (e.g., NIST 800-171/CMMC and NIST 800-53). Partnering with senior engineers and Product teams, you’ll implement secure architectures, automate controls, and improve processes that protect sensitive defense workloads.

Responsibilities

Design and implement secure Cloud infrastructure solutions that meet regulatory and compliance requirements

Automate configuration management, patching, and policy enforcement for networks, servers, and endpoints

Monitor security events using platforms like Microsoft Sentinel, Intune, AWS Security Hub, and GuardDuty

Investigate and remediate vulnerabilities, escalating complex issues when needed

Collaborate with product, Platform, and compliance teams to embed security in the SDLC

Document and improve security procedures to keep pace with evolving guidance

Support incident response and post-incident review, growing toward leading these efforts over time

Qualifications / What We Value

Demonstrated ability in creating Python/Terraform scripts to parse through logs, create small applications, and build API frameworks

Experience reviewing the infrastructure code of other developers to determine what's wrong from a security perspective

Practical exposure to federal security frameworks (CMMC, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP)

Experience securing government cloud environments (AWS GovCloud), ensuring compliance with federal security requirements

Hands-on experience with security tooling (vulnerability scanners, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR) and cloud-native services (e.g., AWS GuardDuty/Security Hub, Azure Defender)

Eagerness to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure systems, while learning from experienced engineers in a collaborative environment

Eligible to obtain DoD clearance and able to work in our Boston (BOS) office at least four days per week

How We Hire We look at the interview process not as a screening or test, but as an opportunity to simulate what it would look like working together. We build the interview process around you.
