Responsibilities

Coordinate and collaborate with the global technology audit team to identify risks and execute audits as part of the audit plan.

Lead audits and staffing, providing consulting or oversight as needed.

Manage internal audit projects related to systems implementations and cross-functional transformational programs involving emerging technology; assist with ITGC, information security/cyber, business applications, and integrated audits as required.

Provide technical expertise to the Digital Services Audit Team and apply sound audit practices.

Maintain familiarity and technical expertise with the assigned business units, including organizational structure, activities, products, development, performance, and risk areas.

Stay current on regulatory rules and changes within the industry.

Interact with Senior and Executive Management to understand business risks and changes that could affect the audit plan.

Train the broader Audit Services team on technology risks and challenges.

Manage and perform special projects as assigned; participate in meetings with business units to discuss audit results.

Communicate with partners at all levels, developing and presenting recommendations on operations and controls.

During audits, assign work to auditors, set priorities, and monitor progress.

Conduct performance management for direct reports and identify training/development needs.

Apply understanding of multiple corporate units to ensure proper audit controls in operations, services, and systems.

Review audit work, including work papers, findings, recommendations, and final reports for adherence to policies and timelines.

Evaluate corporate management, business processes, controls, and operating practices during audits and advisory engagements.

Use analytical skills to identify potential control weaknesses.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of auditing experience, with experience managing a team.

Experience auditing in a financial institution or public accounting in financial services.

Strong understanding of ITGC and related processes (e.g., Configuration Management, Vendor Management).

Knowledge of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) controls (e.g., Incident Management, Problem Management).

Experience testing application controls (e.g., Application Security Testing, Interface Controls) and information security controls.

Knowledge of risks related to newer technologies (e.g., Infrastructure as Code, Cloud Access Management, Kubernetes, Containers, CI/CD).

Knowledge of financial industry standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, FFIEC, GDPR).

Knowledge of cloud environments and related technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

Professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CCAK, CCSK, CCSP, PMP).

Strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills; strong written communication and documentation skills.

Working Model Hybrid: The organization supports a balanced hybrid working model, with time spent between the office and working from home.

Salary Range USD 83,100 – 141,300 (base pay). Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, and other programs), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & disability insurance, and other voluntary well-being benefits. A discretionary bonus program may include an equity component.
