The Fulfillment group, in Marketplace, at Lyft, determines what inventory can be reliably offered for a rider session and fulfills rider requests. Sub teams are responsible for generating feasible offers for riders, connecting rider requests with drivers to fulfill offers, and a demand and supply lifecycle platform that powers the rideshare experience.
As a software engineer at Lyft, you\'ll collaborate with other software engineers and cross functions like product, data science and analytics to lead and execute large projects from idea to efficient execution. We\'re looking for a motivated Software Engineer who is passionate about solving challenging technical problems and excited about working in a fast-paced, innovative and cross-functional environment where they will take on some of the most interesting and impactful problems in ridesharing.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs
Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
Explain the trade-offs in decisions
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
Build features from tech specification to execution
Proactively participate in resolving incidents
Unblock, support, effectively communicate, and obtain buy-in across teams to achieve results
Share knowledge by giving brown bags and tech talks
Experience / Qualifications
BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience
5+ years of software engineering industry experience
Proficiency in object-oriented programming
Experience designing, debugging and running fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems
Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.)
Experience with common CI tools (Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI, TeamCity), and proficiency in at least one of those tools
Solid knowledge of distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases
Ability to communicate in English in writing, meetings and presentations

Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $148,000 - $185,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
