Chemours is seeking a Senior Director of Global Trade Compliance to join our Ethics & Compliance team. This role will be based in Wilmington, DE (hybrid) and report to the Chief Compliance and ERM Officer. The Senior Director will shape and execute Chemours’ global trade compliance strategy in a dynamic geopolitical environment, developing robust policies and procedures, safeguarding compliance, and optimizing our global trade positions to align with business objectives. Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of Chemours’ global trade compliance strategy, building an agile organization capable of responding to dynamic trade conditions Advise executive leadership on the impact of policy changes, emerging trade legislation, and geopolitical shifts affecting Chemours’ international business Oversee trade compliance, developing a program that ensures adherence to all relevant regulations (e.g., Economic Sanctions, U.S. Customs, EAR, ITAR, WTO, regional FTAs) and internal standards Identify, assess, and mitigate trade risks, including those related to tariffs, sanctions, and other trade barriers Help to streamline, modernize and optimize customs and import/export procedures and protocols Serve in leadership role in trade-compliance related government inquiries, reviews and audits Oversee third party due diligence procedures related to compliance risks with third parties Foster strong relationships with government agencies, industry groups, trade associations, and external partners to influence policy and stay ahead of regulatory developments Develop and maintain robust metrics and reporting to track trade compliance performance and provide regular updates to senior leadership Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing global trade compliance team; foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, Government Affairs, Commercial, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of trade compliance strategies with business objectives Drive digital transformation and process improvements in global trade compliance operations Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in related field Minimum 10+ years’ experience in global trade compliance, international logistics, or customs compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Deep knowledge of international trade regulations, export/import compliance, and global tariff regimes Demonstrated success managing trade risks in complex, fast-changing environments Proven ability to influence senior leadership and external stakeholders Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills Experience building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams Strong project management capabilities and experience with trade technology solutions (e.g., due diligence and ERP systems) Preferred
Advanced degree (MBA, JD, etc.) Experience with trade tensions, tariffs, economic sanctions and FTAs Compensation
Pay Range (local currency): $194,746.00 - $304,290.00 Chemours Level: 31 Annual Bonus Target: 32% Annual Stock Amount: 100,000.00 USD Benefits
