Job Summary As a Lead Spacecraft Payload DSP Engineer, you will design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems and RF payloads for our customers. This includes communications systems to link our satellites to each other and to ground stations as well as perform critical missions on-orbit. You will need to work in a team-based environment to work on the unique challenges of developing flexible RF subsystems for small spacecraft on demanding timelines.
This position's internal job code is Elect Design & Analysis Engr. Our team is currently hiring for level 2.
Responsibilities
Leading space vehicle mission trade studies related to on-board signal processing for RF and other payloads
Developing and verifying multi-rate, fixed- and floating-point signal processing algorithms
Perform make/buy trades on signal processing technologies
Developing performance and/or link budgets
Collaborating with teammates across multiple disciplines to design, build, test and deliver spacecraft communication products for multiple programs
Develop Millennium's own communications and payload technologies from concept to flight readiness
Create subsystem manufacturing, integration, and verification documents
Leading subsystem manufacturing, integration, and verification
Operate payload systems on orbit
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering
3-5 years of experience with digital communication system design, analysis, subsystem component selection, and system evaluation
Experience estimating resource requirements on either/both FPGA and general purpose processors for implementing a digital signal processing chain for use in a digital communication subsystem
Familiarity with hardware description languages (HDLs) such as VHDL, Verilog and SystemVerilog
Proficient with programming languages such as Python, C++ and/or MATLAB
Strong bias for getting things done with collaboration but minimal regimentation in a new emerging aerospace environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing, implementing, and testing algorithms for software defined radios
Experience with legacy and emerging satellite communications modulation and coding
Experience designing, implementing, and testing digital communication waveforms
Experience designing and analyzing packet communications protocols
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams including system engineers, thermal and mechanical designers, and analysts, as well as environmental testing engineers
Experience with the CCSDS standards
Proficient with HDL simulators such as ModelSim/Questa and Xilinx Simulator (XSIM)
Experience with Xilinx design flow and toolchains such as Vivado and PetaLinux
Ability to understand and efficiently work and switch between a variety of projects simultaneously to support varying business needs
Master's Degree or higher

Summary Pay-Range Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Level 2: $85,850-$126,250
