Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr

Position Summary The Plant Controller is the most senior financial leader at the site and a key member of the North America Aerospace division’s leadership team. This role partners closely with the Plant Manager, Corporate Finance, and cross-functional teams to ensure financial integrity, drive operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making through accurate financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead monthly forecasting, financial performance reviews, and KPI reporting.

Analyze actual results and collaborate with leadership to drive corrective actions.

Support strategic business decisions through financial modeling and scenario analysis.

Lead or contribute to ad hoc financial projects and initiatives.

Oversee month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and depreciation.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable.

Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure proper capitalization and depreciation.

Manage plant-level tax compliance and support internal and external audit processes.

Assist with physical inventory counts and variance analysis.

Establish and maintain standard costs and operational benchmarks.

Monitor direct labor, material usage, and overhead absorption.

Provide insights into cost drivers and recommend efficiency improvements.

Lead and develop the accounting team, ensuring alignment with plant and corporate financial goals.

Collaborate with operations, business development, and corporate finance to support growth and profitability.

Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline.

Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks through proactive risk management practices.

Ensure compliance with all Vaupell policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), especially those related to safety and regulatory requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or MBA preferred).

CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing finance.

Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and general ledger principles.

Experience in matrixed manufacturing organizations.

Proficiency with ERP systems (Epicor and IQMS preferred).

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.

Excellent communication and leadership skills across all levels of the organization.

Must be a “US Person” (i.e., US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to comply with ITAR and EAR regulations.
