Operating as an integral member of the inventory control teams, this role is responsible for planning and executing field inventory audits (cycle counts) for all business units. Leads a team of field auditors, managing their travel budget and schedule. Partners with other members of the Commercial Logistics team, Field Logistics personnel, Sales Professionals, Warehousing and Hospital personnel to achieve complete and accurate counts of Smith+Nephew inventory and assets. The Senior Manager Field Audits reports to senior finance and commercial leadership the progress and results of field counts. Collaborates closely with finance on inventory reconciliations post-counting. Reports and follows up on process gaps/non-conformances that lead to inventory discrepancies.

Responsibilities

Create, monitor and manage the field audit plan, to ensure 100% count each year for each of the 3 BUs (Ortho, SPM and AWM)

Work closely with the audited parties and field inventory specialists to ensure proper communication and preparation prior to field count execution

Prepare walkaway variances and work together with finance during the reconciliation process

Report identified process gaps, non-conformances or bad practices that lead to inventory gaps and assist in driving compliance

Manage departmental budget and seek opportunities to create efficiencies

Manage team morale and ensure high team work ethics

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Operations, Supply Chain / Inventory management

Good communication, analytical, organizational and presentation skills.

Ability to formulate and adjust plans according to changing needs, basic financial understanding - especially related to inventory reconciliations.

Excellent user of MS Office, knowledge of SAP.

Travel Requirements This position will require 35 - 45% domestic travel at a minimum.

Compensation The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $117,500 - $193,875 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
