Overview
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer to support the Sentinel program. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California or Colorado Springs, Colorado. The role involves full stack development, front-end and back-end work, and evaluating COTS products for the end product. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type: Secret. Travel: 10% of the time. Responsibilities
Developing front end website architecture. Designing user interactions on web pages. Developing back-end website applications. Creating servers and databases for functionality. Ensuring responsiveness of applications. Working alongside graphic designers for web design features. Designing and developing APIs. Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages. Evaluation of COTS products that may contribute to the end product. Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Perform work without appreciable direction. Basic Qualifications
Sr. Principal Software Engineer: 8 Years with Bachelor’s in related field of study, 6 Years with Masters, 4 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree. US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years. Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP). Ability to team plan, execute, and manage the technical scope, and support leadership planning. Experience with Agile and working in a cross-function Scrum team. Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design principles. Familiarity with Full Stack application development including API design. Experience developing database and design. Experience programming in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript). Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts. Experience with UI design and development, or experience interpreting complex algorithms and requirements for implementation. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence. Proficient with DOORS, Cameo with the ability to write and decompose system requirements. Ability to evaluate risks and tradeoffs and present solution options to management. Experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner within an Agile development process. Experience using Atlassian tools to track agile backlog. Experience generating and delivering documents (CDRLs) for government use. Experience designing software using UML in Cameo. Understanding of MBSE modeling tools, such as Cameo or a similar product. Experience performing trade studies of COTS products for use in the delivered system. Experience using DOORS to document software requirements. Compensation and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $206,000.00 The above salary range is a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when making base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses may be awarded to recognize individual contributions and company results. Vice President or Director-level roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
