Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Nightshift Assistant Nurse Manager for our Labor & Delivery unit. This full-time position requires 40 hours per week with two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts, and flexibility to assist on some weekends if necessary. If you have a passion for women and infant services and a strong background in nursing leadership, we encourage candidates with recent acute care experience and strong leadership/management skills to explore this opportunity. Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Nursing is a member of the MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing and leadership team, supporting and collaborating with the Director of Nursing in providing leadership and oversight for a specific unit/department. Directs and coordinates the nursing and patient care delivery of the unit-based professional and support personnel, ensuring holistic, culturally competent, person-centered, quality, safe, and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care for patients and families. Applies the nursing process within the organization’s shared decision-making framework and collaboratively manages patient transitions across the continuum of care to help patients achieve or maintain an optimal level of health and functioning. Assumes administrative and leadership authority during a specific shift (e.g., evening or night) for the assigned unit/department and fosters staff commitment to improving quality, safety, and cost-conscious patient care outcomes. Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to maintain adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, and MedStar Health policies and procedures; models mission, vision, SPIRIT Values, patient care philosophy, and ethical judgment. Qualifications
ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required. Prior clinical nursing experience preferred. Active MD RN license or active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required. This position has a hiring range of $48.36 - $63.61. Seniority level
