Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our growing team to provide network solutions for our clients. Your primary role will be post-sales deployments of network infrastructure using various products and technologies, but you will also participate in pre-sales activities.
This role is open to candidates living in the New England area as it involves consistent on-site client visits.
Responsibilities
Participate in day-to-day network operations and administration for our clients
Configure and install network devices and services, such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, wireless access points, etc.
Provide post sales technical support, guidance and training to clients and internal teams
Work at times in a pre-sales capacity to create and communicate the value of Focus's solution with prospects and clients
Monitor and optimize network performance, availability, and security
Troubleshoot and resolve network problems and incidents
Document network configurations, policies, procedures, and best practices
Interface with client IT contacts as well as third-party vendors
Obtain and/or maintain technical skills and certifications required to meet the requirements of our clients
Assist with non-networking related engineering projects as needed
Willingness to travel and work on-site with clients as well as work after hours and weekends for deployments as needed
All other duties as assigned
Skills
Must have deployment experience using various products and technologies, with Palo Alto and Cisco wireless deployment experience required
Experience deploying and managing LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies
Proficient in network routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP
General wireless troubleshooting and deployment experience
Advanced knowledge of network protocols, standards, and technologies
Proficient in network device configuration and management
Network access control experience with Cisco ISE and/or Aruba ClearPass is a plus
Prior experience with FortiGate and Cisco ASA/Firepower is a plus
Experience in network troubleshooting and analysis
Experience in network security, such as implementing firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, encryption, authentication, etc.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a network engineer in a post-sales deployment role with some pre-sales experience as well
Relevant industry Cisco and/or Palo Alto certifications a plus
Prior experience working in Professional Services for an IT Consulting company preferred
