Overview DevOps Engineer role at Axos Bank. This position is on-site with no remote or hybrid options. Locations include San Diego, Irvine, Los Angeles (CA), Las Vegas (NV), Centennial (CO), Omaha (NE), Overland Park (KS), or Edison (NJ).

Target Salary Range: $70,000.00 /Yr. – $120,000.00 /Yr. Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10% and Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%. These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon performance goals and targets.

About This Job Axos is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a highly motivated team of experts to manage cloud environments, implement CI/CD based on Kubernetes architecture, and support our software applications.

Responsibilities

Design and Develop GitHub Actions for CI/CD

– Develop and maintain reusable, modular GitHub Actions workflows to automate build, test, and deployment processes across multiple repositories in GitHub Enterprise; enforce consistency and quality via workflow standards and templates.

Implement GitHub Advanced Security

– Enable and configure features including Code Scanning (CodeQL), Secret Scanning, and Dependency Review; automate remediation of security findings via GitHub Actions and monitor findings across repositories using organizational insights.

Migrate CI/CD Pipelines from Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise

– Lead end-to-end migration of projects, pipelines, and permissions; rewrite pipelines as GitHub Actions and align repository structures; coordinate with development teams to minimize disruption.

Develop and Manage Azure DevOps Pipelines (Legacy and Hybrid)

– Maintain and optimize existing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including services using RHEL 9 build servers with Docker; design hybrid integration patterns during transition.

Automate DevOps Processes Using Python

– Develop Python-based automation tools for pipeline orchestration, configuration drift detection, audit reporting, and API integrations with GitHub, Azure DevOps, and monitoring tools.

Containerization and Build Optimization Using Docker

– Build and maintain Docker images for application deployment on RHEL 9-based build servers; optimize Dockerfiles and container configurations for performance, security, and reuse.

Deploy and Manage Applications on Kubernetes (OpenShift/EKS)

– Deploy, configure, and monitor containerized workloads on Red Hat OpenShift or AWS EKS clusters with high availability and resilience.

Linux Proficiency for Troubleshooting and Automation

– Use advanced Linux skills for debugging CI/CD and runtime issues on RHEL; write and maintain Bash and PowerShell scripts for deployment automation and system management.

Monitoring, Logging, and Observability Integration

– Integrate observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana) for GitHub and Kubernetes environments; automate alerting and health dashboards to proactively identify issues in CI/CD pipelines and production workloads.

Support Infrastructure-as-Code Practices

– Contribute to IaC development and maintenance using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent for provisioning build and runtime environments on-prem and in the cloud.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

– Partner with software developers, security engineers, SREs, and infrastructure teams to align DevOps practices with modern delivery pipelines, governance requirements, and automation standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

2+ years’ experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

1+ year working with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub), focusing on creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Actions), including automating build, release, and deployment processes for CI/CD in cloud and on-prem environments

At least 1 year of experience automating tasks using PowerShell and Bash

Familiar with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
