Sr. Network Engineer

Join Goodwins Global Operations Team to design, implement, manage, and engineer the firms networking and telephony infrastructure, focusing on stability, availability, reliability, and performance. You will monitor infrastructure processes, implement system security, and assist with or implement new infrastructure technologies to augment services both locally and remotely. You will assist with resource and workload management, capacity planning, and lifecycle management of computing equipment and infrastructure software, and you will participate in budget input. This role requires rotating on-call for after-hours support. Responsibilities
Provide full infrastructure design, planning, configuration, documentation, deployment, and top-level support ownership of computing infrastructure technologies. Develop and enforce firm standards for network and telephony technology in collaboration with the Network & Telephony Manager; monitor adherence. Coordinate and manage changes to the production network environment, including partnering with vendors to manage updates. Assist with resolution of escalated incidents and participate in problem management activities. Maintain awareness of industry trends and their advantages, with the ability to make recommendations for improving technology used by the firm. Assist in negotiations and recommendations of software and hardware purchasing agreements. Participate in and/or manage cross-functional projects to implement new or updated technology. Cross-train other IT staff in the use or maintenance of technology. Effectively manage medium to large projects, including writing the project charter. Assist in maintaining a lab environment for development purposes. Display professionalism and a proactive attitude to internal members/departments, external clients, and vendors via electronic and in-person communications. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Palo Alto Security Engineer certification/experience. 8+ years of relevant technology experience. Demonstrated expert knowledge of multiple technology areas, including:
Cisco Call Manager 10.5.x or higher Cisco Unity Connection Palo Alto Firewall (DLP, SSL-Decryption, NAT, URL filtering, VPN) Aruba Wireless (Campus and Remote) Aruba Clearpass Policy Manager Cisco Meeting Server and collaboration endpoints Cisco Telepresence/Tandberg video server and endpoints Cisco WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft Teams Microsoft DNS, WINS and DHCP WAN technologies such as MPLS, VPLS, Metro-Ethernet, DS1/DS3, OC3 Cisco switches & routing solutions including IOS and Nexus product lines; Routing/Voice protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MGCP, SIP, H.323) Network communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, RPC, RADIUS/TACACS, 802.1x, IPSEC VPN)
