Senior Software Engineer

Swisslog . We are a world-leading robotics company delivering automation and software solutions for intralogistics. The Software Engineer will develop software applications primarily using Java/JEE, EJB, JPA and JSF, with strong frontend and backend skills, OO design and Oracle database programming (SQL). Engineers typically work in small teams (35) on projects that run 16 months. Were looking for a self-starter who can learn quickly and help train others. Responsibilities Undertake the delivery of a defined part of a project, including design, implementation, testing, integration (in-house and on-site) and documentation Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring the robustness and reliability of applications Develop and test software in accordance with design requirements Ensure compliance with QA rules and guidelines Contribute to definition of project designs and the project development process, as requested Adhere to design strategies and development methodologies defined by the Software Development Manager and company quality procedures Create and maintain detailed design documentation, user guides, and technical specifications Provide after-hours support on a rotating basis to address customer issues outside normal business hours Fully document all requirements definition, design, implementation and testing to the required standards Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve software performance and scalability
Qualifications Application Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in Java development, preferably in automation or robotics industries Proficiency in Java, Java EE, EJB, JPA, JSF (frontend and backend solutions), OO design, Java architectures; experience with SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is a plus Understanding of real-time programming, relational database concepts and architecture Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a team-oriented mindset Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), agile development methodologies, and software development tools
Desirable
Knowledge in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), logistics processes and interaction with material handling automation systems
