Overview We are looking to fill a position of Principal Engineer in a role of application supporting engineering on the SETS II contract at DHS HQ St. Elizabeths campus.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will work with a team of professional engineers supporting operations at the USCG HQ facility and DHS HQ in telecommunications, systems monitoring, issue resolution, installation and upgrading of advanced information systems.

Qualifications Requirements:

The following are essential for success: Proven IT experience of 5+ years with bachelor\'s degree or 8+ years with certifications and experience in several of the following areas:

Proven experience with ServiceNow operational capabilities

Incident management

Ability to create required reports.

Knowledge of several key SNOW modules: Assets, CMDB, KM

Experience working with data models distilling information into categories for use in data systems.

Experience with Web Services and REST architecture.

Scripting skills in one or more of the following: MRL, PERL, JSON, Python, Groovy, JavaScript, etc.

Systems monitoring with SNMP, BMC Software, log analytics, WMI, WinRM and scripting languages.

Event management and processing through email, SNMP, and agent-based sources on multiple monitoring platforms.

Programming skills in production environments using change revision software such as GitLab/GitHub to maintain version controls.

Web Server administration

Configuration and administration of Apache on Windows and Linux

Configuration and administration of Microsoft IIS

Proven knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration in an enterprise environment

Proven knowledge on upgrade and patching processes best practices

Proven troubleshooting skills

Proven ability to create and/or customize dashboards across several platforms such as:

BMC

DX Spectrum

Splunk/Splunk Enterprise

Security certificate PKI Certificate management

ITIL v3

Understanding of security controls used in the Federal government.

Desired Skills

Bachelor's degree in a STEM area of study.

ITIL v4 and ITSM methodologies.
