Research Scientist Graduate, GenAI- TikTok Recommendation - 2025 Start (PhD) role at TikTok. This position focuses on empowering genAI and content understanding in TikTok businesses, with emphasis on computer vision and natural language processing, foundational models, multi-modality pretraining, multi-modal large language models, image generation, and video generation. Responsibilities

Our team aims to empower genAI and content understanding in TikTok businesses. Computer vision and natural language processing are important for both content generation and understanding. We are building foundational models, including multi-modality pretraining, multi-modal large language models (LLMs), image generation, and video generation. We strive to achieve business metric gains (e.g., recommendation metrics) and to produce state-of-the-art research outputs. We are looking for strong research scientists graduating in 2025, who are excited about growing their business understanding, building scalable and high-performance models and systems, and partnering across disciplines with global teams, in pursuit of excellence. Conduct development and research on cutting-edge computer vision (CV), natural language processing (NLP), multi-modality, LLMs, and generative modeling. Follow state-of-the-art advances in relevant fields and translate ideas into production. Develop end-to-end model lifecycles, from training and deployment to maintenance and use in business scenarios. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or a related field. Experience in one or more areas of computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning. Solid knowledge and experience with at least one major deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, MXNet, Caffe/Caffe2). Familiar with deep neural network architectures such as Transformer, SSM, CNN, RNN, LSTM, etc. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications

Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related fields. Publications in top-tier venues such as SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR. Compensation

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136,800 - $259,200 annually. Compensation may vary outside this range based on qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that may include discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units. Benefits
