Total Rewards Manager . The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and payroll operations. This role ensures competitive, compliant, and cost-effective programs that align with business objectives and enhance employee engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration, benefits strategy, and HRIS systems (preferably Workday), with the ability to partner across HR, Finance, and leadership teams to drive process improvements and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Compensation & Rewards

Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs (base pay, incentive plans, bonuses).

Conduct market analysis to ensure competitive pay structures aligned with business strategy.

Support annual compensation reviews and pay equity analysis.

Benefits Administration

Manage health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), wellness programs).

Evaluate benefits programs for cost-effectiveness and competitiveness.

Act as liaison with brokers, carriers, and vendors to negotiate plans and resolve escalated employee issues.

Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.

Payroll Management

Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll in partnership with internal payroll team and third-party vendors.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

Audit payroll processes for accuracy and recommend improvements.

Support year-end activities, including W-2 preparation and tax filings.

HRIS & Workday

Serve as HRIS subject matter expert, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and system optimization.

Partner with IT and HR teams on system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.

Create and maintain dashboards, metrics, and analytics for total rewards programs.

Compliance & Reporting

Prepare required reports for internal stakeholders and government agencies.

Maintain accurate documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred: CCP, CBP, SHRM-CP, PHR).

Experience

7+ years in HR with a focus on total rewards, benefits, and payroll.

Hands-on experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.

Skills
