(UEI) in the Education Insights Center (EdInsights). This is a full-time, exempt position. Requisition #654997443. EdInsights is a self-supporting unit of California State University, Sacramento. The Center conducts research, evaluation, and capacity building related to practice and policy to continually improve student success. The duties include leading professional learning programs such as the California Education Policy Fellowship Program (CA EPFP) and the CSU Student Success Network (the Network), in partnership with the Executive Director and EdInsights staff.

Rate of pay & Benefits RATE OF PAY:

$7,473 - $11,209 per month

Conditions Of Employment This is a full-time, exempt from overtime, benefited position with a defined contribution retirement plan through TIAA. The position is not covered under the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. Continued employment is dependent upon funding and mutual consent of University Enterprises and the employee; either party can terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Program continuation is contingent upon funding.

The selected candidate must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the United States. University Enterprises, Inc. is not a sponsoring agency (i.e., H-1B Visa).

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in education, curriculum/instruction, public policy/administration, economics, political science, or sociology, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.

Approximately eight (8) years of experience in education or curriculum/instruction, with content expertise in one or more of the following: public policy/administration, economics, political science, or sociology; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.

Experience organizing, managing, and maintaining the shared vision of complex collective impact efforts, ideally as a lead member of a backbone organization.

Demonstrated extensive experience in curriculum development for adult learners.

Experience working with cross-functional teams in higher education (e.g., faculty, staff, administrators), such as a center for teaching and learning.

Experience managing complex project budgets.

Experience managing staff/teams and overseeing workflow.

Experience developing and maintaining relationships with funders.

Experience using project management tools to manage multiple projects and priorities and meet deadlines (e.g., Trello); proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and internet.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience working in a highly collaborative environment.

Extensive knowledge about the structure and function of California’s public school and higher education systems; commitment to educational equity and understanding of impacts on historically underserved students.

Must pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting; must continue to meet established standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in policy analysis.

Physical Requirements With or without reasonable accommodation: Sit for extended periods; frequent movement; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computers, phones, calculators, copiers, printers, scanners, and the ability to lift or move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions Work is performed at home and/or in an office environment; continuous contact with staff, students, campus community, the public, government agencies, and other agencies; requires local travel to meetings as needed.

Duties And Responsibilities

Co-direct CA EPFP in collaboration with the Center for California Studies' Executive Director; oversee the CA EPFP Program Manager; responsibility for budget decisions, internal evaluation, and communications.

Develop integrated/scaffolded curriculum across multiple sessions (in person and virtual); recruit speakers/facilitators; select or commission readings; identify seminar venues.

Lead outreach, application process, and fellow selection for annual CA EPFP cohorts.

Determine strategic direction of CA EPFP with CCS and EdInsights’ Executive Directors; ensure alignment with EdInsights’, CCS’, and Institute for Educational Leadership's vision; incorporate constituent input.

Direct CSU Student Success Network with support from the Network Advisory Board Chair; coordinate strand directors; oversee backbone operations (finance, operations, communication); budget decisions; prepare annual report.

Ensure Network includes representation from each campus in core strategies.

Provide input on the Network’s strategic direction and propose refinements to leadership.

Oversee all communications for the Network and CA EPFP; coordinate with EdInsights Communications Manager to support recruitment and execution of the strategic plan.

Maintain relationships with philanthropic funders; develop funding proposals; prepare grant reports; ensure project goals and timelines are met.

Represent EdInsights at state and national conferences and meetings; present information to legislators, educational leaders, the business community, researchers, and advocacy groups.

Participate in the EdInsights leadership team as the professional learning expert; advise on how professional learning fits within higher education goals; help inform center decisions and equity strategy.

Collaborate to document learnings from center projects and contribute to EdInsights publications.

Provide supervision of assigned staff and student employees; hire, supervise, schedule, train, develop, evaluate, and mentor staff; provide leadership coverage as needed.

This position vacancy is with University Enterprises, Inc., an auxiliary organization of California State University, Sacramento. This is not a University position; the incumbent will be an employee of University Enterprises.
