– The Global Marketing Engines & Experiences (GME&E) team is seeking a Copywriter to lead voice, tone, and narrative development across Microsoft’s commercial marketing campaigns. This role brings the Microsoft brand promise to life through insight-driven and strategically sound storytelling. In this role, you will partner closely with marketers, designers, strategists, and stakeholders across integrated marketing, product, and brand teams to develop impactful copy that resonates with business decision-makers, IT audiences, and broader commercial communities. From quick-turn social assets to full-funnel campaigns, you’ll ensure our messaging is bold, relevant, and aligned to our brand standards. You will bring an interest in words, strategic instincts, and a proven track record of crafting copy that connects brand with audience. Location
The primary location for this position is Redmond, WA. Additional locations may be considered; candidates who do not reside in one of these four areas will be relocated to Redmond. This role is flexible and allows up to 50% remote work. Responsibilities
Lead copy development across integrated marketing campaigns — particularly for digital, social, and emerging platforms. Translate complex product narratives into accessible, engaging copy that aligns with audience needs and channel best practices. Craft platform-specific headlines, body copy, calls to action, scripts, and messaging frameworks across the customer journey. Maintain and evolve Microsoft’s brand voice through updated playbooks, guidelines, and tone-of-voice documentation. Partner with designers and creative stakeholders to bring integrated concepts to life in a cohesive, brand-aligned way. Stay attuned to trends, technology, and audience behavior to bring innovative thinking to every brief. Support both long-form content (e.g., blogs, landing pages, eBooks) and short-form storytelling (e.g., social assets, email copy). Manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, deadlines, and creative quality. Experiment with generative AI and automation tools to enhance ideation, iteration, and content workflows. Live our culture and values in daily work. Qualifications
Required / Minimum Qualifications
1+ year of proven copywriting or content design experience and a certification, degree, or training in English, Writing, Advertising, Marketing or related field; or equivalent experience. 1+ year of experience in copywriting, editorial, or content development with a creative portfolio or writing samples as a requirement. 1+ year of experience writing for digital, social, or integrated campaigns. 1+ year of experience in presentation and storytelling, including pitching ideas to executive leadership, decision-makers, and C-Suite executives. 1+ year of experience copywriting for brands with B2B or technical audiences.
Additional / Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of commercial audiences and how to tailor messaging to meet strategic business outcomes. Familiarity with Microsoft products and ecosystem. Experience working with creative teams and agencies; agency experience preferred. Compensation
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD 100,600 – 199,000 per year. There are location-specific ranges for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metro area (USD 131,400 – 215,400 per year). Application & Equal Opportunity
