Overview
Environmental M&A Attorney (4+ Years Experience) – Des Moines, IA. We are seeking an environmental attorney with 4+ years of experience to join our growing M&A team and support a wide range of complex environmental regulatory matters in support of M&A transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience advising on matters involving federal environmental laws and experience or strong interest in matters involving state environmental regulatory programs, including Minnesota and Wisconsin. Substantive experience in both environmental regulatory compliance and transactional matters is a plus. We will consider candidates interested in working in any of our offices or remotely, although candidates based in our Minneapolis office are preferred. While not required, we are open to candidates who are currently partners at a law firm or who have full or partial portable books of business with availability to also support environmental regulatory matters in M&A transactions. Responsibilities
Provide environmental regulatory compliance and transactional support in M&A matters. Advise on federal environmental laws and, where applicable, state environmental regulatory programs (e.g., Minnesota and Wisconsin). Collaborate with cross-functional teams on due diligence, risk assessment, and deal structuring related to environmental issues. Assist in client counseling and regulatory strategy for environmental aspects of M&A transactions. Qualifications
4+ years of environmental law experience with emphasis on environmental regulatory matters and M&A transactions. Strong knowledge of federal environmental laws; familiarity with Minnesota and Wisconsin environmental programs is a plus. Experience in regulatory compliance and transactional matters; strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in Des Moines, IA, with options for remote work or other office locations; candidates based in Minneapolis preferred but not required.
