Overview
The Marketing and Communications team at Navy Pier is responsible for promoting the Pier itself, along with 70+ stores, restaurants, attractions, and a year-round calendar of events. These efforts support Navy Pier’s mission to be a world-class destination and one of the most visited locations in the Midwest.
We’re seeking a creative and self-motivated
Content Creator
to join our Marketing and Communications team full-time. You’ll capture and produce engaging content that highlights the energy, culture, and community at Navy Pier from major events to everyday moments.
The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who can manage a content calendar, shoot and edit quickly, and deliver polished, on-brand assets across platforms.
The
Content Creator
will report to the Director of Digital Strategy and Communications.
Responsibilities
Capture content hosted at Navy Pier (during daytime, evenings, and weekends)
Create dynamic short-form video content for Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok ,LinkedIn and YouTube that drives engagement, aligns with brand voice, and reflects current platform trends
Follow and manage a content calendar in collaboration with the marketing team
Film and photograph high-quality, engaging visuals on-site
Ensure all content aligns with the brand’s tone, style, and standards
Incorporate relevant social trends to increase reach and engagement
Occasionally capture interviews or candid audience moments for added storytelling
Centralize and share assets organization-wide and with external agencies, as appropriate
This position is required to be on-site supporting the Pier in Chicago.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Film Production, or a related field preferred
Must be based in Chicago with flexible availability for daytime, evening, and weekend events
2+ years of experience in social media content creation, photography, and video production
A strong portfolio showcasing storytelling across social platforms, including video and photo
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Lightroom, Photoshop), CapCut, Final Cut Pro, Canva, or similar tools
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently in fast-paced, high-energy environments
Comfortable filming in public, high-traffic spaces and engaging with diverse audiences

Base pay range $65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr
